
Today marks the beginning of the implementation of the new Serbian Legalisation Law (Law on Special Conditions for the Registration and Entry of Rights on Real Estate), introducing a new framework for the legalisation of properties constructed without necessary permits.
The legislation aims to establish an accessible and standardized procedure for obtaining title documentation, fully registered before the Serbian Land Registry.
Applications can be submitted (i) through the official government web portal, (ii) at designated municipal offices, or (iii)at Post Office branches.
It is important to note that all legalisation requests filed under the old legal framework, except those already completed, will no longer be valid. All applicants are hence required to resubmit new requests under the rules of the new system.
All applications must be submitted by 5 February 2026.
